Hi, I am Janneke. I was born in the Netherlands (1985) and then moved to beautiful Portugal. I am passionate about living healthily and taking good care of myself and the planet.
I have personally experienced what healthy nutrition can do for your body and state of mind, and I would like to share my experiences with you.
As a little girl, I was a difficult eater. I sat at the table for evenings with tears in my eyes. By the time I needed to go to bed my plate was often still full. This changed when I was 16 years old and learned how to cook.
I decided to become a vegetarian, and a whole new world opened up for me. I collected recipes, learned what I liked and disliked, and found pleasure in eating. I learned that cooking is an indispensable part of a healthy lifestyle.
As I got busy in my twenties, I lost sight of my love for cooking. Eating became a side issue. Studying, working, and friends were more important. I noticed that I became heavier and I was very tired more often. The balance was hard to find.
This changed when I started learning more about nutrition and, in particular, its relationship with my health. I changed my diet and lifestyle, lost 15 kilograms, and gained a lot of energy. I also progressed a lot mentally. I got more self-confidence; stress and anxiety lessened, and depressive moods occurred less often.
I am so impressed by the impact healthy nutrition has had on my life. All women who struggle with their weight and lifestyle – like me a few years ago – deserve this positive impact.
My way of life
My diet is mainly plant-based. I keep the 80/20 rule and eat 80% healthy, but I also love to enjoy, for example, chocolate and sweet little pies. I have a real sweet tooth.
At the moment I am vegetarian, but I’m working towards a completely plant-based vegan diet. Besides this, I don’t drink alcohol. I prefer to exercise in the form of yoga, strength training and take beautiful hikes in nature.
Besides knowing what it´s like to be overweight, I am also a certified nutritional coach. I will gladly help you on your way to a physically and mentally fit lifestyle.

A plant-based diet
For me, health comes first, but I also think about animal welfare and the planet. For this reason, I’m in favor of a (more) plant-based eating pattern. I will show you how you can apply this way of eating and let it work for you.
A plant-based eating pattern is based on vegetables, fruit, grains, nuts, legumes, and meat substitutes such as soy.
